Treads Bicycle Outfitters, a retail chain selling and servicing bicycles, opened their 8,123 s.f. store in January 2008.
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Cranbrook Village:
REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.), a national retail cooperative providing quality outdoor gear and clothing, announced plans to open a 26,000 s.f. store. Located at Ann Arbor Saline Road and I-94, the store will house shops for outdoor activities that include camping, climbing, cycling, fitness, hiking, paddling and snow sports.
Whole Foods Market, the world's leading natural and organic foods supermarket and the nation's first certified organic grocer, will be opening a 52,000 s.f. store at Cranbrook Village in 2008.
Waters Place:
Borders Group Inc. has opened a 28,900 s.f. concept store in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at Waters Place Shopping Center. This will be the first of 14 such locations the company expects to open nationwide this year, bringing more of the digital world into bricks-and-mortar bookstore retailing.
